1. Coconut oil
Thanks to its antibacterial properties, this homemade coconut oil beauty product will wick away the moisture you've lost through your pores, leaving your facial skin looking healthy, soft and glowing.
Try: Gently massage some coconut oil on your face for about 30 seconds. Then apply a warm cloth to your face to open the pores. Wait 15-30 seconds, then pat the oil out with a washcloth.
2. Cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar can help restore the pH of your skin and face to relieve breakouts, prevent clogged pores, and prevent your skin from becoming too dry or oily. The pH of cider is around 5.5, very close to the ideal pH of human skin.
Try: a natural toner! To prepare this homemade facial beauty product, mix well one-part apple cider vinegar to two parts water, then apply this decoction on the clean face with a soft cotton ball. Once the skin is dry, apply your usual moisturiser.
3. Honey and lemon
Together, honey and lemon act as a moisturiser and antibacterial, the perfect duo for good skin cleansing. The citric acid in lemon kills acne-causing bacteria, and its enzymes help clear away dead skin. Honey is a natural antibacterial packed with antioxidants that would prevent acne and slow down the ageing of the skin. Honey is also great if you're looking to brighten up your complexion.
Try: Mix 10 ml (2 tsp) of honey and 5 ml (1 tsp) of fresh lemon juice. Heat this mixture between your fingers and then apply a thin layer to your face and neck. Let stand until dry. Rinse with lukewarm water.
4. Yoghurt

Yoghurt is an excellent facial cleanser, rich in protein and lactic acid. These compounds work in concert to detoxify the skin: regular application of lactic acid helps your skin shed dead cells through exfoliation, and proteins help shrink pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines and hydrate.
Try: Mix 2 tablespoons of full-fat plain Greek yoghurt with 1-2 teaspoons of honey. (Optional add-ins: a few drops of lemon.) Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. Remove with a soft, damp washcloth.
Gently massage a thin layer of yoghurt onto your clean face using your fingertips; this will help get any dirt or makeup out. Let the yoghurt sit for a few minutes then wash off with not too warm water and a washcloth.
5. Avocado oil
Avocado oil, which is extracted from the pulp of the fruit, is excellent for nourishing dry, damaged and chapped skin, according to a study published in the International Journal of Molecular Science. Macadamia, almond and wheat germ oils are also rich in fatty acids and polyphenols which nourish the skin and fight ageing.
Try: do as for the previous cleanser. Apply the oil of your choice to your face in circular motions with your fingertips, then cover with a warm washcloth for a few minutes to open the pores. Then rinse gently with not too warm water.
Have you ever tried any of them?
