Every October, since 1985, millions of people around the world have participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a programme that raises awareness of a disease that affects nearly one in every eight women in the World.
The good news is that most women who are diagnosed with breast cancer can survive it if it is caught in time. Because of this, knowledge-building and education are crucial.

7 ways to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
1. Wear pink
The universal breast cancer symbol is a pink ribbon. One simple approach to encourage those battling breast cancer is to wear a pink ribbon or pink clothing. Choose your favourite pink attire and implore your loved ones to do the same. Pink everything, including the nails, hair, cosmetics, and jewellery. This October, think pink creatively.
2. Volunteer
There are several regional and international volunteer groups that promote breast cancer awareness. The American Cancer Society (ACS), a national nonprofit health organisation dedicated to curing cancer, welcomes plenty of volunteers. The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 and offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including Relay For Life, Road to Recovery, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
3. HELP A CANCER PATIENT
You may support a loved one who has been diagnosed with breast cancer in a variety of ways. To aid your loved one, you may plan meal delivery, transportation, and other duties. Through the use of an online social network and planner, you may assist in uniting the patient's family, friends and workplace. Keeping everyone informed about your loved one's condition is simple. There are some online platforms that can be used to leave notes of support and love from friends and family.
4. EDUCATE OTHERS ABOUT CANCER SCREENING
By encouraging your female friends and relatives to obtain mammograms and teaching them how to inspect their breasts for abnormalities, you can raise awareness of breast cancer. Set a good example for others. In October, several clinics provide free mammograms. Make an appointment for a mammogram, and perhaps your loved ones will do the same.
5. DOWNLOAD DIFFERENT SOCIAL APPS
There are a lot of Breast Cancer Awareness Apps available for free. Girls who have been diagnosed with breast cancer might benefit from this free tool, which consists of an extensive online guide and app. Users may view uplifting videos of survivors discussing their experiences.
6. PARTICIPATE IN A RUN OR A WALK
The world's biggest and most effective breast cancer fundraising and awareness group is called Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The group organises the nationwide series of 5K races and walks known as the Komen Race for the Cure. The 60-mile, three-day Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is another event hosted by the organisation. These events' proceeds support breast cancer research.
7. CREATE YOUR OWN FUNDRAISER
Having a car wash, lemonade stand, bake sale, yard sale, or other DIY event with the proceeds going to a breast cancer charity is a fantastic way to support a good cause.

These seven methods represent the very top of the iceberg only. There are many different methods to help breast cancer awareness. The fight against breast cancer is one that thousands of women engage in all year long, therefore it need not only happen in the month of October. Even something as straightforward as taking the time to listen to a patient's tale and demonstrating your compassion can have a beneficial effect.
