The skin cells renew themselves approximately every month, but several factors such as age, smoking or a poor lifestyle alter this process. It is therefore important to help our skin as much as we can with regular exfoliation!

The benefits of this relaxing beauty routine are numerous and visible whatever skin type you have.
Peeling, scrubbing, sandblasting, etc. are exfoliation techniques that allow the skin to be deeply cleansed.
In one day we lose about 1 million skin cells, which represents an average of 28 grams of dead cells in one month. These are cells that we cannot see with the naked eye as they are very small.
Despite the fact that they are microscopic, scrubs are essential to get rid of your dead skin.
Otherwise, the dead skin builds up, mixes with the skin's oil and clogs the pores. This leads to blackheads, acne and all those other atrocities we hate.
In addition to preventing the formation of impurities, exfoliation stimulates microcirculation, which improves the skin's radiance and promotes the regeneration of the epidermis.
This process allows you to unclog and tighten your pores, thus oxygenating the skin (stimulating blood circulation). This removes dead skin and starts the process of cell regeneration. You will notice an improvement in the texture of your skin.
In addition, this technique is essential for oily skin with excess sebum or blackheads. By regenerating your skin through exfoliation, you slow down the aging process of your skin.
The different types of exfoliation:
Enzymatic exfoliation:
This exfoliation is also called chemical exfoliation. It is an exfoliation in the form of a peel.
This technique uses fruit enzymes (AHAs) which act by nibbling away the dead cells by applying it to the skin and being left to act for a period of time.
This exfoliation is gentle and less aggressive for sensitive, dry and mature skin as it does not directly attack the epidermis.
Mechanical exfoliation:

This process mainly uses an accessory: the electric or battery powered scrubbing brush.
This technique is increasingly used, as new technologies are replacing simple everyday gestures by transforming them into precise, mechanical and rhythmic gestures for professional results for all budgets.
Many brands now offer this type of product.
This allows for long-term savings but above all it gives professional results with a lower budget than in a beauty salon.
This exfoliation is much more precise because the mechanical gestures of the device are able to target the zones better thus obtain an effective result.
Physical exfoliation:

Also known as "scrubbing", this technique highlights the so-called particle abrasion process. Indeed, it contains small beads that essentially results in the elimination of dead skin with the scrub. This is the best known and most widely used. It is the combination of a creamy texture with fine grains of sand, salt, fruit stone particles, microbeads, etc., which will exfoliate the skin. The exfoliation takes place thanks to a gentle massage. By massaging the grains on the skin, the dead skin is detached and falls off.
You can evaluate the type of exfoliation you want (light or more pronounced) and insist if necessary on the desired areas.
For the body, exfoliating is also a must as it prevents ingrown hairs. Indeed, the excess of dead skin creates a skin occlusion which encloses the hair under the skin.
As the skin on the face is much thinner, the grains of your exfoliant must be much finer and more delicate in order to avoid skin irritation. For the body, on the other hand, you can opt for a scrub with thicker grains.
Winter is coming, don't forget to take care of your skin, as you may have read, exfoliating your skin is a weekly care to give to your skin.
We often think of moisturising and cleansing on a weekly basis but exfoliation is also an essential part of skin care.
